There are vast numbers of lone fathers in the world. Knowledge of us, as an identifiable group, is thin on the ground.
Many of us will have reached the position of becoming a lone dad after periods of pain, separation or bereavement.
Recent research shows that:
- Lone Fathers are in a minority.
- Lone Parents are financially worse off
- Many lone fathers feel they do not have all the skills necessary to become carer and home maker.
- Children of lone fathers may also feel “different” from their peers
- Lone fathers can feel isolated and lonely
