Single dads generally fall into one of three "types"

  • Loners. Those who watch Newsnight on their own. Noble students from the, not on your Nelly, I'm alright Jack, leave me alone, I'm doing just fine, school of not now.
  • Dreamers who are sitting around their living room waiting for Natalie Horler of Cascada to knock on their door to ask if she could help put the washing away and make tea for you and the kids before an early night (we know, stranger things have happened!).*
  • And a third type who are serious about wanting to find another partner.

We guess because you find yourself on this section of the website you come from the third grouping. No judgements here, but that has to be a good thing!

OnlyDads are not going to offer trite advice or the ten top-tips for successful dating. We know you will have asked yourself the same old questions a thousand times:

  1. Is it the right time for me?
  2. What about the children? Are they ready for me to bring someone home?
  3. Even if it is the "right time", do I really want another relationship?

Our guess is, no one ever really knows the answer to questions (1) and (2.) And given that you are reading this, question (3) may already have been answered.

For those Dads who may feel like they need a bit of help through this process, we offer descriptions and links through to smaller, more personable Dating Sites and Introduction Agencies for you to explore.

Lesley, at The Introduction Company, meets every client personally at her office.  She explains "I spend a good deal of time over this meeting, seeing only one person per day. It's never easy starting again but at least this way I get to know how things really are for you and can match you up accordingly. No photos or profiles to wade through either.  I organise the entire date from start to finish and then the following day I'm waiting by the phone for your feedback. It helps to know how things went and if you didn't pluck up the courage to ask for her phone number I'm the go between to make sure things happen.  I'm always on hand to lead you through the process and ready with suggestions and guidance if you need it. You would get unlimited introductions to women I have personally met and spent time with. (Three year's membership for £490 in total and A.B.I.A. approved) I also offer monthly "Meet & Greet" events in York where non members are most welcome- very informal, drink and chat style evenings.  These are useful if you don't know where to go to meet new people."
